Practice Information: Licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts of New York and Pennsylvania. His primary practice is in litigation, including personal injury and medical malpractice, family law/ matrimonial and criminal defense. He also handles real estate transactions as well as wills and estates.
Education: A graduate of Vestal high School, Mr. Butler then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and his J.D. from Western Michigan University-Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
Community: Matthew has been a volunteer coach with the Vestal Youth Football league and Vestal Youth Lacrosse and currently runs Vestal United Lacrosse, a non-profit lacrosse program focusing on promoting the sport of lacrosse in Vestal as well as running Vestal’s travel teams program. He also serves as assistant coach for the Vestal High School Junior Varsity Lacrosse team. Mr. Butler has served on several boards including the Broome County Bar Association’s Board of Directors, and has been the attorney for the Town of Vestal Zoning Board of Appeals for 14 years.
He is a member of the Broome County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
He lives in Vestal, New York with his wife, Marisa, and their two children, Ally and Jared.
